Psalms 141

An Evening Prayer for Sanctification and Protection.

A Psalm of David.

1 Lord, I call upon You; ahurry to me!
bListen to my voice when I call to You!
2 May my prayer be
Lit fixed
counted as dincense before You;
The eraising of my hands as the fevening offering.
3 Set a gguard, Lord,
Lit to
over my mouth;
Keep watch over the idoor of my lips.
4 jDo not incline my heart to any evil thing,
To practice deeds
Lit in
of wickedness
With people who ldo wrong;
And mmay I not taste their delicacies.

5 May the nrighteous strike me with mercy and discipline me;
It is ooil for the head;
My head shall not refuse it,
For my prayer pis still against their evil deeds.
6 Their judges are qthrown down by the sides of the rock,
And they hear my words, for they are pleasant.
7 As when one rplows and breaks open the earth,
Our sbones have been scattered at the tmouth of
I.e., the netherworld
Sheol.

8 For my veyes are toward You,
Heb YHWH, usually rendered Lord
God, the Lord;
In You I xtake refuge; ydo not
Lit pour out my soul
leave me defenseless.
9 Keep me from the
Lit hands of the trap
,
abjaws of the trap which they have set for me,
And from the acsnares of those who do wrong.
10 May the wicked adfall into their own nets,
While I pass by
Lit altogether
,
afsafely.
